The Science of Artistry

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he [or she] grows up.
- Pablo Picasso

We are all artist...
In search of the perfect beat. In search of the perfect canvas.
...In need of inspiration.

Phenomenon of Inspiration

Inspiration is the key designed to unlock the energies to create Art. Inspiration can come from any source at anytime. At its best, inspiration feels euphoric, uplifting and mentally refreshing.

Have you ever watched, read or heard something that sparked an idea or emotion?

That stimuli is the inspiration.

An apple falling from a tree inspired Sir Isaac Newton to formulate the theory of gravitation. Harvey Specter (from Suits) was inspired by his boss's statement, "You are one of them," to create a stunning deal in a legal settlement. A painting by Basquiat with the statement, "MOST KINGS GET THIER HEAD CUT OFF," sketched on it inspired Jay-Z to write a song on the perils of success. The famous composer Steve Reich was inspired to create phasing by listening to his windshield wipers going in and out of synch. Robert Kearns, inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper, was inspired to create wipers that blinked every few seconds like human eyelids.

The one thing we have in common with: Picasso, Sir Isaac Newton, Harvey Specter, Jay-Z, Steve Reich, Young Swift, Oprah, Vinel Brown (of ICO), Quincy Jones, Robert Kearns, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Ralph Lauren, Alvin Ailey, Steve Jobs, Evan Williams, Mark Zuckerberg, Walt Disney, Thomas Edison, Jean-Michel Basquiat or Donald Trump - is that we are all artist. We are all highly susceptible to inspiration. The difference is in how we channel that inspiration.

That's where creativity comes in.

The Chemistry Between Art and Creativity

A man paints with his brain and not with his hands.
Michelangelo

Art and Creativity are insanely in love - internally they are in search of one another. Creativity is the romance of inspiration, curiosity and skill. Art is the representation of Creativity. [The trophy wife!] Creativity is the Genotype and Art is the Phenotype. If they were a person, Creativity would be the emotions that influence behavior - Art.

What Picasso said makes sense. Remaining an artist is at times lost in maturation. Kids are naturally imaginative, curious and inspired to do so many things. Somehow, as one gets older that child-level of dreaming and curiosity decreases. Maybe ego, influences and pressures combats inspiration, imagination and curiosities. I believing asking "why?" and imagining beyond possibilities are essential in creating Art.

The Art Cycle. Inspiration sparks ideas and creativity. And, ideas and creativity influences great Art.

My Art Exhibit

For several years, I have bottled up my energies and allowed The Art Cycle to stop at ideas and creativity. Trust me, it drove me crazy! I, finally, released and channeled those inspirations, emotions, ideas and creativities to the Art form of writing. The transcribed sculpture of a message. If you are, like myself, an artist of writing - you are an Architext!

I encourage you to release and channel your creativities in an art form of your choice; Boxing, acting, modeling, music, architecture, inventing, speaking, dancing, teaching, helping, management or Architexture - the art of writing.

My Art is Writing. My Exhibit is my Blog. Thank you for Visiting. You inspire me!

We are all artist...

...In need of inspiration.

This is a scribe of my thoughts that will otherwise be trapped in the mirror, washed away, or flushed. And at times - cleaned.
